High Spirits have been in existence for around half a decade now. Hailing from Chicago, You Are Here is the follow up to 2011's Another Night which is an album which I have not heard so this is my introduction to High Spirits. I can't honestly say that I'll be rushing out to purchase Another Night on the strength of You Are Here but this album offers passable if undemanding pleasure.
Nine tracks of unprepossessing middle-of-the-road metal is the offering here, with songs such as "I Need Your Love" (sample lyric,", I Need Your Love, I Need Your Love, I Need Your Love, I Need Your Love, I Need Your Love,") being dumb but inoffensive. Whether this record should be featured on a progressive music website is an interesting point as at times this makes Status Quo seem like Frank Zappa but it is by no means awful – just ordinary.
