Killer Be Killed: Killer Be Killed

Killer Be Killed is the latest genuine supergroup who combined are hitting hard. With three vocalists that are bassist Troy Sanders(Mastodon), Max Cavalera (Soulfy, Cavalera Conspiracy) and Greg Puciato (Dillinger Escape Plan) who also provide those killer riffs, while doing such a fine job on the drums is David Elitch (Mars Volta). Together they have created a totally addictive new album that should have a wide appeal.

A catchy metal release with a melodic touch and you would expect Killer Be Killed to be a powerful album and that it sure is. Though not restricted to an all out brutal onslaught of thrash and hardcore there is variation with that range of influences of those talented and experienced participants from the past and present, this album really is something else. Also given the contrasting cocktail of brutal and clean vocals from Cavalera, Puciato and Sanders Killer Be Killed has so many cool elements with a musical arsenal that many bands would be envious of.

Rocking out with that hard and heavy groove on "Wings of Feather And Wax" Killer Be Killed's clean and intense vocals music are matched by the music. David Elitch's drumming onslaught sets "Face Down's" on its way and that mighty grooving chorus and great twists and turns are irresistible, while the addictive crusher "Melting The Marrow" is a gripping pace changer. "Fire To The Flag's" explosive music and lyrics are so impactful and "I.E.D." has Killer Be Killed forging ahead and throwing in some more curveballs such a that doom metal like feel and that slow brooding feel introduces "Dust Into Darkness". "Forbidden Fire" has the bass work of Troy Sander's centre stage for the introduction before Max Cavalera's destructive vocals kick in.

Hopefully this isn't Killer Be Killed's first and final collaboration as it just wouldn't seem right, when there is some serious musical chemistry between this titanic line-up.
