Embersland are a band formed in Barcelona, Spain in 2009 and at their website listed below they are giving Sunrise away for free! That's right, nothing at all so there's absolutely no reason you shouldn't give it a listen especially if keen melodies and energetic power metal with a touch of proggy tendencies are your bag. Lead singer Will has a deep voice which sometimes appears to belong to a slightly different band but apparently the band has added a girl singer to the mix since the album was recorded, so maybe they'll move to being a touch more like Serenity which is definitely a good thing. On Sunrise, however, the band mixes death metal style vocals and clean vocals to good effect especially on "Kidnapping".
This is a highly promising debut album which generically touches across a number of metal sub-genres but always keeps an identity of its own. I can't imagine that they'll have to give album No.2 away for free so treat yourself to this one and start saving up!
