Fake Club: Fuckable

Debut album from this London based feisty all-female five piece has plenty of attitude and bags of energy. Fake Club have already had a song featured in British film Powder Room ('Midnight at Koko') and were dispatched Stateside for the recording of Fuckable – an anagram of the band name for those who missed it - that has been mixed by Kevin Killen and mastered by Bob Ludwig (Zeppelin, Hendrix and Springsteen to name just three of his many credits). Rowdy and raucous the ten tracks might be but they also showcase some well-crafted song writing skills ('Bullet Brain', 'Do What You Gotta Do') that weave garage rock riffs with 21st century grooves.

Vocalist Rosie delivers a real sense of menace to 'Generation', a supercharged brutish rock n roller that captures all that is great about this band – from the cowbell to the defiant refrain of "we do what we like". This anti-authority vibe is a recurring lyrical theme, notably on 'Feel Me' and 'Do It Like Me' and the whole album comes across as a call to arms that Fake Club are a band determined to be in control of their own destiny. It all makes for a more than satisfying debut release; sing-alongs, crowd-surfing, mosh pit mayhem and success will all be part of the exciting journey that lies ahead.
