Borrowed Time "A period of uncertainty during which the inevitable consequences of a current situation are postponed or avoided" Borrowed time is also the name of this Detroit, Michigan metal group debuting with a self-titled recording.
Borrowed Time are a buoyant traditional metal group which shows on this album, in comparison I can't say that I am so enthusiastic with all of this new release. Not all of Borrowed Time's songs are that memorable neither are some of the vocals but I do feel that the so-so production is the main culprit here, it really doesn't do songs like "Dawn For The Glory Rider" justice. That's not implying that Borowed Time is a bad album not at all. On a positive note not every track is detrimental to the flow of the album take the brief "Dark Hearted" and the following "Libertine" both are strong and enjoyable examples of Borrowed Time's better inclusions and there are others. That prominent and driving bass sound is also a plus, and the guitar work shows very encouraging potential.
If Borrowed Time want to standout they need an album with a more consistent appeal, and in particular focus on the production next time as that is one key area that would have really lifted this album. So with some improvement I see no reason why the outlook for Borrowed Time can't be a bright one.
