Hard to believe that Syracuse's very own vegan hardcore/metal veterans Earth Crisis have now been around for 25 years, but that is indeed the case and here they are with their latest release for Candlelight Records, Salvation of Innocents. Don't expect much deviation from the formula, instead Earth Crisis are content to do what they do best, which is deliver brutal, metallic hardcore long on crushing, precision riffing, pounding rhythms, and violent vocal bellows, growls, barks, and screams. Tunes like "The Morbid Glare", "Shiver", and "No Reason" all pack plenty of piss 'n' vinegar, while "The Pallid Surgeon" is about as mosh friendly as hardcore can get. Sure, after a while, some of the songs tend to all sound somewhat the same, but if brutal hardcore is your thing, you pretty much can't go wrong with this one. Also, this is a concept album, as the band have partnered up with Black Mask Studios for the forthcoming Liberator comic, with the lyrics of Salvation of Innocents telling a tale that will be featured in that comic book, along with artwork on both courtesy of Menton3.
