Hawthorne Heights: The Silence In Black and White

More pedestrian angst from the suburbs that brings to mind an otherwise well-equipped adult having a nervous breakdown in the middle of a very important meeting. There's the humiliation, the psychosis and the overall awkwardness of the situation. There's nothing here that hasn't already been done. Same old stuff with, "Alternate screamy/scary vocals with ones that are smooth and serene" on the agenda. When these kids just sing (like they do toward the end of, say, "Dissolve and Decay") and play, they're at the low end of OK. When they try to be big and complex and dynamic, it's an embarrassing and forced spectacle.
