From Greece hail the melodic rock/metal act Kingdragon, and their debut CD Hide the Sun will be unveiled to the world in January of 2014. The band have been around in various incarnations since 2006, but their line-up as of today consists of George Aspiotis (vocals, keyboards), Anastasis F. (guitar), Mark Kontopidis (drums), and Andrew Roumeliotis (bass). It's safe to say that these guys have studied their classic Whitesnake, Dokken, Giuffria, House of Lords, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, and Journey albums quite well, as Hide the Sun is long on catchy melodies, crunchy guitars, breezy keyboards, and arena rock attitude. "Burn It Down" is just flat out addicting, with a chorus that just refuses to leave your head, and the title track, "Shout Very Loud", and "Judgement Day" will take you back to 1987 all over again. Aspiotis proves to be a very special singer, soaring to the heavens on the more melodic pieces like "Living For Tomorrow" but also spitting hard rock venom to perfection on the raging "Live For Rock".
AOR/Melodic rock/metal fans have a real treat to look out for in early 2014 with Hide the Sun, and Kingdragon appear to have all the goods to be a real player in this style for years to come.
