Craven Idol: Towards Eschaton

Craven Idol have been toiling the scenes of the underground London metal scene since 2005, and here we are 8 years later and the band is finally ready to unleash their debut album, Towards Eschaton on Dark Descent Records. The band is comprised of Immolator of Sadistik Wrath (Guitars, vocals), Scourger ( Guitars), Suspiral (Bass), and Volgard (Drums). Sure, as you can probably guess by their names, these guys are a black metal band, though with a healthy dose of thrash to go along with their venomous attack. Towards Eschaton rampages along from start to finish with plenty of violent intent, guitars raging and slashing through the mix over pummeling drum work and evil vocal growls & screams. Think along the likes of Destroyer 666, early Slayer, Aura Noir, and even Dissection for a reference point. When it comes down to it, the riffs are what makes this a truly enjoyable affair, with tracks like "Sworn Upon the Styx", "Golgotha Wounds", and "Codes of Seven Dooms" just brimming with blackened thrash guitar thunder.

Solid from top to bottom, Towards Eschaton is a brutal slice of black metal & thrash from a UK act that has signaled their arrival.
