Dirty Shirt: Freak Show

Dirty Shirt are a metal band from Romania. The line up on this album are Dan "Rini" Crăciun (vocals), Robi "Metalistu" Rusz (vocals), Mihai Tivadar (guitars, synths, programming), Cristi Bălănean (guitars), Pali Novelli (bass), Vlad "X" Ţoca (drums.) Tivadar also handles production duties alongside Charles "Kallaghan" Massabo. The album is available as a download for just €5 from this link.

For such a small sum you'll get some seriously tasty metal combined with Romanian folk music and dance-inflected beats but more than that there are tons of energy and quality songs. An example of this would be "Bad Apples" which combines all the above and echoes the work of System of a Down. The title track is equally fun and eclectic and twists and turns all over the shop generically making it a very interesting listen. The entire album (clocking in at a very nice and succinct thirty seven minutes) is full of ideas, power and reggae and death metal and punk and hardcore and…well, invest those €s and enjoy.
