Named after the band's guitarist (Marko Pavic) Is War the Answer? is Pavic's third album and is the first to feature new vocalist Joe Calabro alongside fellow newcomer Antonio Aronne behind the skins. Long term members Lorenzo Antonelli (keyboards) and bassist Aleks Ferrara round out the band and together they play very much in classic rock vein.
Given the right push there is quite a bit of potential here. "Song for the Rain" would be a definite hit in the hands of a band such as Nickleback (and doubtless have the band emoting in the er, rain in the video) and other than a horrible cover of a horrible Duran Duran song ("Notorious") Is War the Answer? is an enjoyable straightforward, no frills rock album. It won't change the world but will float the boat of anybody looking for arena sized hard rock.
