Alestorm: Live At The End Of The World (DVD/CD)

Black Sabbath weren't the only metal group to have recorded a live performance in Melbourne Australia this year, for there be indeed another from the vastly entertaining crew of folk/power metal group Alestorm. Live At The End Of The World is some of the most fun you will have watching this bunch of drunken metal scallywags perform their songs before an audience that isn't holding back either. Or are those in attendance just "bat shit insane" as lead singer and keytar player Christopher Bowes refers to them. Showing some true ingenuity their drummer's stand also doubles as a holder for those bottles of alcohol required to maintain ones stamina for such a live show.

"The Quest" is first and you can't miss Christopher Bowes' "awesome keyboard solo" or so he refers to it as such. Alestorm give a faithful reproduction of their songs in this live setting with many humorous additions between the songs and is that a pirate's or a rooster's hat that Christoper has on for "Wenches & Mead" ? The security guys must have been quite concerned for their safety when he splits the crowd in half instructing them to instigate a pirate battle of sorts when he "says go" which they promptly do, then begins one of the many fan favorites on this release "Captain Morgan's Revenge".

There are three bonus inclusions, a tour documentary of sorts well kind of anyway if that's what you want to call it including their fascination with the kangaroos. Also there be a film clip of In The Navy the Village People hit which has now been Alestormised if that's even a word and also a video of "Rumpelkombo" which is seriously taking the piss being the shortest song ever. I had to rewind it to see if there was actually anything there and I almost missed it haha.

Just like "Nancy the Tavern Wench" Live At The End Of The World will show you a good time and Alestorm are having a ball, long live pirate metal.
