Hawkins, Fiona Joy: Live at the Q

Fiona Joy Hawkins has been referred to as the 'Australian Enya'. Hawkins is an Australian composer, vocalist, and pianist. She was born in Cessnock, New South Wales, to a creative family, and trained as a classical pianist. She is currently a 2013 Independent Music Awards Finalist for Best New Age Album and Best LIVE Performance. She was also an ARIA Finalist in 2009 with Blue Dream, (ABC Music). Currently she is travelling the US touring with Trysette promoting the release of the album 600 Years in a Moment.

This is a wonderful album of Hawkins best songs off her most recent catalogue played live at the "Q", or Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre in Sydney, Australia. Hawkins, along with a long list of Australia's finest artists and The Blue Dream Ensemble fill this theater with a magical soundscape of new age music. The piano and Hawkins voice fill the Q with 15 tracks of perfectly delivered sounds which will take your mind away from its daily cares. The music is full of emotion and inspirational key notes which will lift your thoughts and dreams.

It would be great to hear music of this magnitude delivered live in the perfect setting. From the descriptions I have read about the Q, it is a magical place to watch a concert. Hawkins music would only enhance the beauty of this environment.

Put on your headphones, close your eyes and prepare for a concert from your living room. Now all we need is the DVD/Blu-ray.
