The Silent Wedding is not a band name I would associate with one that performs melodic progressive metal, well this group sure changes that perception. The Silent Wedding are from Athens, Greece and have a new album called Livin Experiments.
Livin Experiments is The Silent Wedding's debut full length, the band originated back in 2006 and released a self-titled debut EP in 2008. The Silent Wedding continued to perform live while their fan base grew and eventually they signed a record deal and were able to release Livin Experiments this year.
If I am reminded of any band it would be the progressive group Magnitude 9 they had a similar catchiness about their material while still being technical and melodic. Starting with "The Return" The Silent Wedding give us one of Livin Experiments best the music is very compelling and I do like how they use the keyboards in their music . The ten songs on Livin Experiments show that The Silent Wedding are very comfortable performing this kind of fetching melodic metal with their technical prowess, the songs don't drag along aimlessly and there is substantial variety and excitement without going overboard.
Give Livin Experiments a try who knows you may very well find that this release works for you also.
