Swedish Hitz Goes Metal: Vol II

ReinXeed's Tommy (Johnasson) ReinXeed returns with a second album of power metal covers of, unsurprisingly, more Swedish pop hits. Sadly there's no Roxette this time around although apparently "Dressed for Success" is on the Japanese version. So as with Vol I there are ABBA covers interspersed with other songs which aren't written by the geniuses that are Benny and Bjorn. It would take a strange lack of talent to ruin any ABBA song and ReinXeid and his cohorts don't manage that although I'd say that we are pretty much at the stage where the barrel is about to have its bottom scraped.

Taken for what it is, this is another fun if inconsequential album although the version of "All About the Money" is verging on spectacular and it is some of the non-ABBA songs which work better in this over-the-top style which the band have adopted.
