Garden: Somewhere Else

I reviewed Garden's last release and I note that at the time of writing said review has only garnered 254 visits. This is a shame as it is an excellent album as indeed is Somewhere Else. This is every bit as intriguing as the eponymous record and every bit as eclectic. Let's just look at the tags on the bandcamp website for Garden shall we?

: power metal progressive rock rock symphonic metal art rock avant-garde avant-garde metal avant-garde rock progressive progressive metal Edinburgh

Believe me; all these bases are touched upon although I'm not sure how Edinburgh can be a musical tag. According to bassist/composer Samuel Bradley Somewhere Else is, "a quasi-concept album less metal-oriented than our debut, taking greater advantage of the variety in arrangements our lineup offers". Lauren Bain – flute, Dan Glover - piano, vocals, Chris Grieve – cello, Patrick Jamieson - guitars, vocals, Matilda Nordqvist – violin and Cameron Kuronen-Stewart - saxophone, clarinet play alongside the aforementioned Bradley and together they make music for the adults amongst us where songs and ideas are given time to breathe – go to the link below and give yourselves a treat. It's available on a "pay-what-you-want" basis so there really is no excuse for not checking it out.
