This gutsy, gritty and occasionally even sleazy collection of rockers pulls together some of the best recorded moments of the past decade from Queen V. The rock and roll siren takes her cue from some of the leading ladies of the 70's and 80's and delivers a set of consistently high octane and ferocious rockers. Motorhead's Lemmy and Tom Morello from Rage Against The Machine turn up on a couple of tracks - the former adding his dulcet tones to 'Wasted' ( a song that he also co-writes) and the latter provides his signature electrifying guitar work to the huge sounding 'My Machine', two tracks that both date from back in 2009.
These special guest contributions aside there is also some dazzling blues harp on the kick ass opener 'Revolution Bay' but Queen V herself is the star of the show with her assured, aggressive and on occasions melodic delivery that mixes up the best of former Runaways Joan Jett and Lita Ford with the punk attitude of Wendy O Williams and the commercial edge of Pat Benatar. Amongst all of the bluff and bluster is the far more mellow sounding 'Cry for a Minute' where Queen V displays her softer side. Overall this a consistent set of songs and serves as a good introduction to her music, that is strong enough to see Queen V get further support and build her fan base.
