If you're at all a fan of progressive rock, then you've probably come to expect at least an ounce of pretension along the way. It's not always bad, though there are those outfits that have lofty goals that quickly topple anything remotely palatable about their own work. They burn the goose, then stuff it down your throat. Such is the case with the Art Bears. Despite major talent––Fred Frith and Chris Cutler––this little do-jobbie is just grate [sic]. At two-discs, though, you'll have enough time to clean your bong and your apartment, let's give it that.
