Hollywood Burnouts: Kick it up a Notch

In his review of Hollywood Burnouts' first album our very own Steven Reid concluded that, "the guys certainly have the attitude and swagger to make the leap from copycats to leaders of the pack, although album number two could be make or break." Well here is record number two and I am very much of the impression that this is a much better record than the debut album in almost every way.

Song wise, production wise, everything is better. The opening salvo of "Ghost", "Out of Hell" and the particularly fine "Satan city Shuffle" are as catchy as heck and if the album never quite reaches those heights again it never plumbs any significant lows either. There is resolutely nothing original on offer but there must be many kids out there who would like to pretend that they are on the Strip and are ready for some retro 80s action and Hollywood Burnouts are in prime position to give them what they want.
