Power Trip's first full-length release brings together a bunch of stuff, a lot of which has been out there for a little while. Given that these guys have been going strong for over five years and have already put out several demos, splits, and other recordings, it's nice to have everything available in one place.
Musically, this album is 35 minutes of unabashed crossover heavy metal and punk rock with an eye to the old-school style of a previous generation. Fans of this kind of metal will love the way Power Trip brings their ears back to a time when thrash albums were simultaneously fun and dangerous, exciting and aggressive. The production also has that D.I.Y. sound that most listeners will associate with good underground acts. This isn't slick and polished metal; this is thrash from the streets. Enjoy.
