I've read many positives about the power metal group Powerwolf in the past, and so I have taken the time to listen to some of their material prior to hearing this their new release, but I wasn't compelled to delve further into Powerwolf's discography. Powerwolf reminded me of Sabaton a popular power metal band which I don't mind to an extent amongst other groups, but I just didn't feel the need to take the plunge into their discography when there are so many other options that I prefer. It's one of those cases where I enjoy the music more than the vocal style.
Powerwolf's fifth album Preacher Of The Night offers up many catchy metal tracks and some clear standouts like as Powerwolf rock out with "Coleus Sanctus" and the blazing "Amen & Attack" which is a rousing choice for the opener that fans of this band will surely eat up and sing along. There is no doubting that Powerwolf are a potent power metal act and Preacher Of The Night has so much of that powerful music and epic choruses for those eager to join this metal wolf pack. I'm still not enticed though Preacher Of The Night hasn't converted me, while yes it's fun for a while but as a long term listener it's not for me. I prefer to hear an album that sounds fresher and holds my interest for longer.
