The good people at Svart Records aren't joining in the PR bullshit that so many others indulge in when they say that Speedtrap, "is not here to reinvent the wheel," because the wheel stays resolutely unreinvented on Powerdose. Svart go on to say that, "The band has squeezed out all the unnecessary elements out of their diamond-tight arrangements and kept the songs short to ensure an overdose of genuine 110-proof rock energy." They aren't wrong; the songs zip by at a furious pace like a cross between Motörhead and Nashville Pussy. It's highly basic but very, very fun. If you can resist the temptation to bang your head at least a little whilst listening to this then I'd suggest a trip to your local hospital to check that you're a still alive.
