Fino, Rose Ann: Rosa Ann Fino

Rose Ann Fino is a solo musician originally from New York's Hudson Valley. She now lives in NYC and is releasing her debut album as a vocalist/guitarist. Her vocals and music provide a country western style complete with piano support from The Crowmatix and guitarist John Platania.

She uses emotional vocals and lyrics to help discuss growing up the area and moving into one of the world's largest cities. Her voice is hard to compare to anyone else, but she does follow a Dylanesque cadence when singing. She does a great job of capturing the grit and determination needed to survive through that transition.

The best tracks on the album for me were the opener, "Change My Mind" with its powerful message and excellent acoustic guitar; "City Lights", with its brave first encounter themes; "Seventies Trousers", with its throwback to a simpler time and it's wonderful slide guitar; "Little Girl Lost", with its remembrance of innocence and its clavinet wah; "Sink Your World", with its bluesy kick and ability to pull all the highlights of the album together .

Rose Ann Fino's debut is a good change of pace for anyone looking for a new voice with interesting stories and music.
