Bach, Sebastian: ABachalypse Now (CD/DVD)
 ABachalypse Now is a great treat for Sebastian Bach fans, a 2CD & DVD set that contains never-before-seen footage from this year's GrasPop Festival in Belgium, the full never-before-seen Hellfest set from France and the fully-remixed and remastered Club Nokia show from Los Angeles (originally broadcast on AXS TV). Whether viewing the DVD or cranking the CDs, it's quite apparent that the former Skid Row frontman is still a heavy metal force to be reckoned with. Along with his band, which includes Nick Sterling (guitar and background vocals), Johnny Chromatic (guitar and background vocals), Jason Christopher (bass), and Bobby Jarzombek (drums), Bach and the boys seem to be having a blast during the shows, and the fans are completely eating it all up. Playing Skid Row classics like "18 & Life", "Monkey Business", "Slave to the Grind", "Youth Gone Wild", and "I Remember You" alongside Bach solo tunes such as "Kicking & Screaming", "Big Guns", "TunnelVision", and "American Metalhead", each set is fast moving and heavy hitting, with Bach's mix of high pitched screams and more melodic tones soaring over the top of crunchy riffage, groove laden rhythms, and scorching guitar solos. Though the setlists from show to show are fairly similar, Bach seems to be at his best vocally on the Los Angeles show, which really is a great & inspired set from the entire band, and look for plenty of guest stars to pop up along the way.
Kudos to Frontiers Records for putting out a content packed set here, something that other labels would be well advised to follow instead of releasing separate CD & DVD collections.

IF YOU WERE TO ASK SEBASTIAN BACH WHAT TYPE OF MUSICAL GENRE HE FEELS HE BELONGS TO HE WOULD ANSWER THAT HE IS, M.O.R. MEANING MIDDLE OF THE ROAD ROCK.HIS IDOLS ARE JOURNEY,FOREIGNER,JUDAS PRIEST,NEIL YOUNG,MUSICIANS THAT LEARNT TO ENTWINE HARD ROCK AND HIPPY MUSIC,INTO THEIR OWN FORUM.SUMMONED BY THIS KIND OF CORROSION AND HAILING FROM A TALENTED FAMILY,BACHS FATHER FAMED CANADIAN ARTIST DAVID BIERK TAUGHT BACH CREATIVE DISCIPLINE AT AN EARLY AGE,HE TAUGHT HIM HOW NOT TO ALLOW OTHERS BREAK HIS WILL OR LOVE FOR ANYTHING AND HOW TO FOCUS ENERGIES.SEBASTIAN BACH IS A FORWARD THINKER INTELLIGENT ENOUGH TO USE THE PAST HE LOVED SO BROUGHT SUCH A HIGH LEVEL OF VOCAL RANGE GENIUS TO SKID ROW THAT COMBINED WITH HIS SEXGOD LOOKS AND STATURE,IT WAS OBVIOUS HE WAS HEADING FOR ICONS IN SKIES AND THIS MEANT TROUBLE AND HEAVY META THUNDER FROM RIVAL CONTEMPORIES SINCE BACH WAS NOT SIMPLY TAKING OVER BUT STEPPING OVER THEM WITHOUT MEANING TO.SEBASTIAN MARRIED AT 19 YEARS OF AGE TO A HAUNTINGLY BEAUTIFUL GOTHIQUE CHANTEUSE,SONGWRITER,GHOST-ACTRESS NAMED LAVINA KYMILLE MARIA MESSALINA.NO PHOTOGRAPHS OF HER EXIST HOWEVER SHE CAN BE BRIEFLY VIEWED IN GOTH BAND GENE LOVES JEZEBEL SONGVIDEO BRUISES.THE ESTRANGED LEGAL WIFE WAS A DEVOUT ALEISTER CROWLEY THELEMITE OCCULTIST,SO LUSTED AFTER SHE DISSAPEARED LEAVING BETTER KNOWN MARIA TO REPLACE HER TO A MILLION BRIBES AND SCHEMES.THE ROCK INDUSTRY HAS A DARK SIDE THAT GOES WAY PAST THE WITCHING HOUR.SKID ROW WERE BECOMING MAGIKAL AND DANGEROUS,A HEADY CONCOCTION OF DE. BAUDELAIRE DEBAUCHERY. THE ORIGINAL LINE UP HELD A SONG REPETOIRE THAT HAS BEEN UNEQUALLED IN THEIR LATER YEARS.SEBASTIAN BACH TODAY HAS MAINTAINED HIS VOCAL JEUNESSE WITH A DRIVING ENERGY THAT NEVER FAILED HIM.NOT FOR ONE SECOND HAS ANYONE EVER FORGOT THE SKID ROW SILVER STAR THAT NO GOD COULD BREAK.
