Circle Of Silence: The Rise Of Resistance

The Rise Of Resistance is the new studio release by German metal group Circle Of Silence. Founded eight years ago Circle Of Silence would promptly release their debut Your Own Story in 2006, The Supremacy Of Time followed in 2008 and their last album was 2011's The Blackened Halo.

Not having heard those prior three albums from Circle Of Silence's discography which means as far as any comparison goes I can only go by what the accompanying notes state that The Rise Of Resistance is "the band's most striking, solid metal yet". Likened style wise to such metal groups as Iced Earth and Brainstorm and on listening others did also come to mind including Dream Evil and Mystic Prophecy. Just like those top metal acts Circle Of Silence do present some very tasty chunky riff charged metal on this likeable release.

So delving into this album past the cool artwork we are greeted with "Blood Of Enemies" and Circle Of Silence should get heads banging with their furore of hard hitting metal music. The style of many of their songs such as "Eyes Of Anarchy" and "Nothing Shall Remain" are more in that ballsy catchy Brainstorm vein than Iced Earth though "An Oncoming Storm" and "The Final Chapter" with their prompt riffs and structures do steer more towards I.E. More metal fury can be found on those like "Slave to the Greed Machine" and the final track "The Architect of Immortality" is in that slow building milder vein that morphs into a heavyweight metal closer.

Circle Of Silence's The Rise Of Resistance is just waiting to be snapped up by any collector of robust US style power metal.
