There is no stopping this tsunami from Scandinavia of quality Metal releases. Their 7th studio album of Norwegian gothic infused Metal is an intense listening experience of uplifting overtures and dark anthems. A concoction that you'll find difficult to imagine merged together but believe me it works impeccably. The twin vocals of Mariangela Demurtas & Kjetil Nordhus bring enhancing dimensions to a quite deep listening experience. The almost Tool like 'Himmelfall' is possibly the stand out track, with some glorious soaring vocals by both vocalists on 'Scarling'. If you want something with the grunt and bite of some Death Metal then you'll find it here, by the same statement if you want soaring female vocals that take you to new heights then this is also catered for. 'Night On Earth' is a prime example of what Tristania can achieve with this unique approach to Metal. Whilst keeping its edge it's also a prime emotional piece of work with some intrinsic guitar and crunching Death Metal style riffs to keep most happy.
Tristania have produced a compelling piece of work that has required me to sit down and immerse myself in their melodies of Metal and riffs of rock, a complete triumph.
