F.K.U.: 4: Rise of the Mosh Mongers

Horror thrash metal band F.K.U. have been around since 1987, and if you're wondering as I was F.K.U. is short for "Freddy Krueger's Underwear", not exactly what I expected. When I think of the particularly nasty movie legend it's those deadly gloves not Freddy's underwear that comes to mind, but each to their own I suppose. With that creepy artwork and the band looking the part in those zombified images, along with song titles such as "Scream Bloody Mosher" and "They Feed In The Dark" and their accompanying lyrics, the band conveys the horror theme to their latest recording 4: Rise of the Mosh Mongers.

The cast for this energetic musical horror act is vocalist Larry Lethal, Pete Stooaahl on guitars, Pat Splat on bass and drummer Dr. Ted Killer Miller who are all set to terrorize those who encounter the songs of 4: Rise of the Mosh Mongers.

"Moshocalypse now" sets the scene for the impending pandemonium and the swift classic thrash metal of "Rise of the Mosh Mongers" has Freddy Krueger's Underwear ripping it up as they surge to life. "Back Hole Hell" and"Cannibal Detox" contain more energized old school music by this Swedish band. There is always room available for those groups like F.K.U. with plenty of likeable hard hitting metal on 4: Rise of the Mosh Mongers.

4: Rise of the Mosh Mongers is a thrash riffage fest and lot of fun something F.K.U. clearly like to have, and their material leaves a strong impression. As much as I never ever want to see or venture near Freddy Krueger's actual Underwear, this thrash metal group and their new album are worth investing some time with.
