Ishtar: Ombre

I don't have too much information about this Italian band besides the fact of being a solo act from Italy who is presenting their second output. His other moniker is A.S. Hereb…

This is not a full length album but a five track release that came out in 2012. This is a completely instrumental work from Mr. Hereb. Today seems to be the right time to listen this release for me since I needed to relax and it is cloudy outside…The compositions are mostly acoustic with a few samplings. The acoustic guitars and piano parts are nicely accompanied by some keyboards. On a couple of places, you can hear a bit of wind and some footsteps to add atmosphere. I would say that overall, Ombre is a neo-classical and very ambient type of work. The guitar is mostly playing arpeggios while the keyboards are painting a pleasant décor that gives a bit of a classical vibe in a few occasions. True that the guitar also brings a touch of classicism while the piano cast an abstract shadow. I found that the compositions were maybe using a bit of a similar formula by using the same instruments. Nonetheless, it remains a very pleasant musical venture. On the other hand, I might be wrong but on the closing track, "Foglie d'oro Piovevano sui Nuovidei", I believe there are some violins and cello parts to be heard, unless they are very realistic keyboards. My favorite compositions are: "Una Voce Chimava il mio nome Stanotte" and "Da Vicino, Cosivicino.

Actually, Ombre a very nice little neo-classical instrumemtal work to discover.
