Intöxicated: Rock N Roll Hellpatrol

Do not take this album seriously. It doesn't want you to. It's nothing more than a tongue-in-cheek form of musical play, a fun mixture of beefy metal riffs and B-movie themes. Yes, it's offensive, deliberately so, but it isn't trying to rattle any cages. It's just messing around, having a little jab at metal's extremes. Just look at the song titles: "Sex Drinks Satan" (a theme of the album, not just a title), "Crush Your Local Disco," and "Slutanic Speedmetal" to name a few. This is bar music, big and beefy, drunk and lustful, rebellious and adventurous. It's metal for venues that would have booked Motorhead before they hit the big times. Give it a listen, but don't think about it too much or you'll miss the point. This is metal without a message, a reminder that some music should not be serious.

The music on this album is fun, fast, and furious. The band compares to Speedwolf and the aforementioned Motorhead. Simply put, this is rock and roll that sounds a lot like heavy metal. The production is sharp and crisp, but occasionally muddy in all the right ways. This band sounds best when they are playing at rapid tempos, the guitars raging ahead with their mighty crunch. The singer's vocals are dirty and full of phlegm. The lyrics, similar to, but more inspired than, Motley Crue's "Girls Girls Girls," are bottom of the barrel, offensive even, but they aren't meant to be the utterances of a wise and all-knowing oracle.
