Cross, Christopher: A Night In Paris (CD/DVD)

This triple disc (2 x CD, 1 x DVD) set captures the multiple Grammy winning Texan soft rocker on A Night In Paris recorded at a show performed in April 2012. As you would expect from an artist of Cross' stature the attention to detail is very much apparent with the DVD benefitting from multiple camera angles, captured in HD and with impeccable presentation throughout. The flawless band of seasoned veterans provides note perfect and faithful renditions of all of his biggest hits including such timeless classics as 'Ride Like The Wind', 'Arthur's Theme' and, everyone's favourite yacht rock anthem, 'Sailing'.

The tour was to mark the singer-songwriters first album of new material in more than a decade, 2011's Doctor Faith, and the newer compositions place a slightly greater emphasis on guitars over keyboards most notably on 'Leave It To Me' and 'Dreamers'. Cross remains in excellent voice and smooth vocals shine throughout although he remains something of a reluctant frontman, preferring to let his music do the talking. Released on 8th April, A Night In Paris will undoubtedly prove to be a much welcome release for his loyal and devoted fan base.
