Tedeschi Trucks Band: Live- Everybody's Talkin'

Two albums in and the TTb are already in live album mode but rest assured, they haven't run out of ideas. Derek Trucks is on record as saying that he always envisaged that their second record would be a live one. Everybody's Talkin' follows swiftly on the heels of the brilliant Revelator and features tracks from that album and some judicious covers.

As with Revelator the album sounds fabulous sonically, there's plenty of space for all eleven members of the band to be heard especially Trucks' guitar – naturally - but especially the keyboards of Kofi Burbridge which underpin everything and the understated horns of Kebbi Williams – saxophone, Maurice Brown – trumpet and Saunders Sermons – trombone. Above everything else though there's that voice. I could, as the cliché goes, listen to Susan Tedeschi sing the phone book. At times she's hurting, at times she's a strong matriarch but she's always soulful.

Everyone's a winner on Everybody's Talkin', this is the sound of a band at the very top of their game and this is an utterly essential purchase for anyone who likes jam bands.
