Black Tusk / Dead Yet?: Split 7"

For such a short release, this split 7" requires a bit of explanation. Some readers are no doubt familiar with these bands, but for those who need a little help, here's a breakdown of what to expect here: Both bands offer a new track and a cover of a song written by the other band. "Blood and Oil" is a new track by Dead Yet? and "Facedriver" is their take on Black Tusk. "Iron Giants" is the new Black Tusk track and "Fearing your Mind" is the cover of Dead Yet? Got it? Shall I continue?

I should point out that Black Tusk is one of my favorite stoner / sludge bands outside of the mighty Red Fang. I saw them a couple of months ago with the aforementioned Red Fang and was strongly impressed with their energy and their musical talent. They bring endless energy, bold performances, and engaging songwriting to every aspect of their music. The new track "Iron Giants" is a very strong addition to their already powerful catalogue and should be readily embraced by fans.

Dead Yet? and Black Tusk represent some of the best heavy music coming out of Savannah, Georgia these days. This split is quite good, though a little unnecessary. Remember when Mastodon released a split with Feist? This split is like that, only less surprising. Grab it for the new Black Tusk song or to get to know Dead Yet?.

Track Listing:
1. Dead Yet?--Blood and Oil
2. Dead Yet?--Facedriver
3. Black Tusk--Fearing your Mind
4. Black Tusk--Iron Giants
