7 Weeks: Carnivora

7 Weeks were formed in April 2006 in Limoges, France since then they have released All Channels Off and 7 Weeks Plays Dead of Night, which was based on Bob Clark's 1972 thriller movie "Dead of Night". They've shared the stage with a wide range of diverse acts such as Suicidal Tendencies, Infectious Grooves, Placebo, Arctic Monkeys, The Datsuns, Brant Bjork and Brit old school punks The Damned. Now they've brought their third album Carnivora to the marketplace and they are citing a wide range of influences such as Clutch, Helmet and Queens of the Stone Age.

Fortunately I've been unable to trace any Arctic Monkeys in their sound but there's some Clutch in there but not to the same degree of heaviness. The odd tune such as "Acid Rain" or the title track could wake up the deepest sleeper yet equally demonstrate the main issue with Carnivora which is that once you've given it a spin it is very easily forgotten.
