From Cincinnati, Ohio comes Cinema Sleep, a 5-piece band comprised of Brady Reis (Lead Vocals), Alex Asch (Lead Guitar), Ryan Meyers (Bass), Kevin Vincent (Drums), and
Robert E. McDonald (Guitar/Vocals). These guys play a melodic modern rock/metal style that is highly catchy yet also pretty heavy at the same time. The vocals of Reis are absolutely outstanding, and his soaring passages along with the crisp & metallic riffing from Asch & McDonald are what instantly catch your ear here on Make Your Way, but in the end it's all about songs and these 5 tunes really pack a punch. All of these tracks are instantly memorable and accessible hard rock/metal fare, with Reis' powerful vocals leading the charge on heavy hitters "Take Me Home" and "Through This House", each one containing choruses that stick in your head and refuse to let go. "The Response", "In Dreams", and "Light to Shadows" are no pushovers either, with the former containing some of the most crushing riffs on the album and layer upon layer of well executed vocal harmonies.
While Cinema Sleep (love the name by the way) might not appeal to our readers who lean towards the prog or extreme side of the road, if you like catchy, melodic modern day hard rock & metal along the lines of Shinedown, Anberlin, and Emery, Make Your Way will be right up your alley. There's no reason in the world why this band shouldn't make a huge impact in the months and years ahead.
