Fading Frames is a recording by the exciting Rome based metal group Rainfall. Rainfall are one talented bunch of performers that consists of vocalist Francesca Messali, keyboardist Giorgio Mannucci, Emanuela Marino with guitar and backing vocals, Veronica Roselli on bass and Paolo Benedetti displays his talents on drums and percussion. So as you would have gathered Rainfall is a mostly female group.
One of the best progressive bands in my opinion is To-Mera, they record such fantastic diverse songs combining so much else style wise that previously you wouldn't have expected to hear from such a band. Well Rainfall are similar in that respect besides the fact that they to have an impressive female vocalist. Also while not to that same extent Rainfall like to incorporate other kinds of music and quite successfully so. The vibrant Spanish touches between those heavier parts of the enjoyable opening track "The Eos Temple" are a great example of this and a very tasteful addition. With songs like "To The End" Fading Frames has so much great gripping dynamic music and the vocals are also very well done, and sure while much of this release is on the heavy progressive side Rainfall also effectively include lighter passages.
Rainfall enchant the listener with their charming progressive/melodic songs on Fading Frames, all suitably captured with a slick sounding production job. Fading Frames is one album that I do like a lot, though what is surprising is that this release actually came out back in 2011. So this kind of quality really shouldn't go under the musical radar now should it?
