Hatebreed are an angry band, very fucking angry. This pent up anger continues on this their latest offering The Divinity Of Purpose and explodes in a flurry of fists and phlegm. Jamey Jasta [vocals] credentials are unsurpassed having been around the metal community for some time. His band of Metalcore brothers lays waste to anything getting in their way for the 38 minutes this album lasts with its pit friendly furious delivery. On 'Dead Man Breathing' and title track 'Divinity Of Purpose' coming closer to the Metal tag than they dare go on previous releases it at least shows progression from the Hatebreed camp. Yes we get the gang vocals combining with the relentless pace Hatebreed put into their albums with elements of their punk/hardcore roots but it works well. The songs are brutal but with an underlying subtlety buried within their three minute average time.
Hatebreed will not stray too far from their comfort zone and The Divinity of Purpose is full on aggression for 38 very intense minutes. Without a doubt this is the soundtrack to fight to, fuck to, and drink to, get ready to hate!
