Despite the name Gina is not a singular female vocalist, Gina is in fact a quartet from Finland who feature members Toomas, Regina, Omppu and Risto. Regina is the lead singer and appearance-wise she looks like a cross between Zoe Ball and Rebecca Adlington (that's a reference mainly for UK readers.) The band makes a specific effort not to be labelled generically. From the opening riff of "Hush" to the end of the somewhat apt "Beginning of an End" there's a spark in their work that makes Gina seem sprightly if nothing else!
Mostly Gina play melodic pop with some fairly heavy guitar at times as in the really rather funky, er "Funky", which has some Doors-y keyboards in it. Some of the songs aren't overly memorable ("Too Many" in particular lets the side down), however, there's enough here to suggest that the future could be pretty bright.
