Rage Nucleair: Unrelenting Fucking Hatred

When I found out that Quebec's Rage Nucleair was fronted by Cryptopsy ex-vocalist Lord Worm, I was expecting straight up death metal like his previous band. However, to my surprise, Rage Nucleaire is definitely not death metal. No, instead what we are treated to is straight up black metal that just seethes hatred and anger.

The album is surprisingly much better than I expected seeing as this is stylistically way off from Cryptopsy. I have to admit I was expecting some sort of generic, half assed black metal album but instead I have to say this is the real deal. The songs are heavy as fuck and (as the title says) unrelenting. The riffs are pummeling and Lord Worm sounds like he is trying to beat the listener into submission with his vocals.

The key thing with this album is that it successfully creates an aura of violence and hatred that cannot be adequately described in words, but must be heard to be full experienced. This is the sonic equivalent of watching a slasher film. If that sounds a little bit too much for you then avoid this album at any cost. Anyone else with a bit of morbid curiosity should check out Unrelenting Fucking Hatred as soon as possible. The album is solid and should not be missed by anyone into black metal. It's too bad I didn't hear it sooner or I would have definitely added it to my year end "best of" list.
