Oxygene 8: Loop 1
Oxygene 8 is the production of composer/vocalist, Linda Cushma. She plays most of the instruments on this spectacular album of sounds and emotions. Cushma plays Chapman Stick, Bass, Guitar, and composed the synth loops. Cushma exclusively uses the Line 6 Pod HD500 Amp Modeling/Multi-Effect Pedal and Swan flight cases.
Accompanying Cushma on this album are Tim Alexander, Steve Parrish, John Humphrey, Joe Myers, Fatimah Halim, and Claudio Cordero.
The album is one long 56:02 song full of some fascinating sounds and musicianship. Full of prog, jazz, and electronic synth sounds. Yes there are peaks and valleys, but when taken as a whole it is well worth a listen. The pinging sounds at the beginning and end were enough to make this interesting and different for me.
My only criticism is that there were not enough of Cushma's vocals. When she does sing it is enchanting. More would have made this album even better.
