Gaddabouts, The: Look Out Now

The Gaddabouts were formed by the inspiration of Steve Gadd in 2011. Steve Gadd is a world – renowned studio and session drummer from New York, who has played for almost every well-known rock and jazz talent on earth since the 1970's. Just take a look at the discography of albums he has played on and I'm sure you will find at least ten or so albums that you love.

With his deep background and experience, having worked with an exhaustive list of talent, Gadd, assembled one of the most powerful groups of musicians you can imagine. Edie Brickell, (of New Bohemians fame and Paul Simon's wife), handles the lead vocals. Andy Fairweather, handles the guitars, bass, harmonica, and vocals; Pino Palladino, plays bass, tres, guitar, and vocals; and of course Gadd handles drums, percussion and adds vocals.

They released their self – titled debut album in 2011, and "Look out Now" is a double disc follow-up released in 2012.

This album is jam – packed with excellent rhythms and sounds. Gadd's drums will quickly make you a believer. Especially on the songs "River Rises" and "Devil's Story", which are full of that excellent reggae - like funk. But along with Gadd's virtuoso drumming and percussion you get to experience the sultry sounds of Edie Brfickell's voice. Right from the opener, "Meat on your Bones", to the finale "Corruption", Edie's vocals will win your heart and ears over immediately. "No assembly required".

Remember this is a double disc of pleasure, full of well written lyrics and virtuoso playing. The lyrics on "The Horse's Mouth" should bring a smile. Perfect for everything from a Saturday morning with coffee on the couch to a long fall ride in the foothills. Good enough to wanna hear every note…played over and over again. You had to know the guest list would be full of talent. Check it out. There are too many highlights to list here.
