Frankie and Gator, or FAG, was founded in Kouvola, Finland in 2005. The band claims to combine many styles in its music, ranging from pop to progressive metal. The band's music is, according to the ever hardworking Inverse records, " characterized by imaginativeness, adventurousness and variability in the song arrangements. The unique vocals by singer Dick Hideous and depth in the lyrics bring a sense of originality to FAG's compositions. The emotional scale of the songs varies from extreme anxiety to playful humor. The group's music may be an acquired taste – meaning it is something you have to learn to like – but the patient listener will be rewarded!" I've tried and I have found virtually nothing to like on Burma.
Dick Hideous vocals are terrible at all times and I'm not sure at all if this isn't one gigantic pisstake. It's as if Justin Hawkins had decided to write really dreadful songs, record them badly then put them out to ruin his career in a Lou Reed style. This may well be one of the worst albums I've ever reviewed, everything about it is incompetent from begining to end with the possible exception of "Bachelor's Song" which is nearly OK.
