There are a few bands around the globe that use the name Redline but this particular version hail from the self proclaimed Home of Metal - Birmingham, England. Vice is the bands second full lenghth album and is released via Escape Music. Given that he rarely gives interviews or does sessions the band have pulled off something of a coup in enlisting the services of Slade's Jimmy Lea to help them out on cello for the power ballad "Cold Silence" so this endoresment has to be applauded. For the most part this is 80's inspired melodic metal, Dokken, Dio and the Tony Martin fronted Sabbath all coming to mind. Some solid hard rock grooves and tasty licks combine with the melodic power of vocalist / screamer Kez Taylor to ensure for the most part this no nonsense, full throttle metal and "Battle Cry", "King of the Mountain" and "Twisting The Knife" are just some of the highlights. Vice closes with a rousing call to arms "We Came To Rock" that really defines what Redline are all about and what the album lacks in originality it more than makes up for in enthusiasm and passion.
