Doro: Raise Your Fist

Raise Your Fist is the title of the latest studio release by German female metal rocker Doro. Back in the eighties when I was into Doro/Warlock's catchy material there was so much to like, I still remember getting what would be the last Warlock album of the '80s Triumph and Agony on vinyl with that totally awesome eye catching artwork. As Doro has been very active since that time I most probably have missed further impressive heavy metal, but her latest Raise Your Fist has that with lively songs like "Revenge".

Doro's latest metal offering has guest appearances by guitarist Gus G.(Firewind/Ozzy Ozbourne) on "Grab The Bull (Last Man Standing)" and Motorhead's Lemmy Kilmister sings on the power ballad "It Still Hurts". Raise Your Fist is a pumping metal release for the most part with a few lighter tunes in the mix. The final song "Hero" is Doro's excellent tribute to Ronnie James Dio and is one of the best tracks on Raise Your Fist, you simply can't listen to this song without being moved by the vocals and of which Doro's still sounds great.

Raise Your Fist will put a smile on all of Doro's fans faces, many years after she first appeared Heavy Metal still has plenty to give thanks to those like Doro.

My Score:

between the fake pics of her the monotany of each song in the same bad voice, its a wonder she can pay anybody at all to duplicate such crap. A 10year old garage band could do better sorry. It's not wonder she's a complete unknown in the US. She should stay in Germany where she's got at least 20 people to follow her.
