Kix don't mean a whole lot over here in the UK. In fact, I'd say that their profile is virtually subterranean so forgive me if I've missed the clamour for a Kix live album. The record label describes it as, "long awaited," so if you have been waiting for it you'll be beside yourself with excitement. If you haven't (and I haven't) you may be slightly underwhelmed. I'd strongly suggest that the reason that Kix never made it is because they weren't quite as good as their contemporaries. They just don't have the song power to be remembered as one of the greats. Everything passes over the ears like a fairly mediocre Poison – that looks really harsh now I've written it but I stand by it. This, coupled with some of the most puerile between song banter possible from Steve Whiteman make this one which I shall be deleting from my playlist pretty quickly.

Kix was like a cross between Bon Scott-era AC/DC and Def Leppard. The reason that they never made it big was because they didn't make a power ballad til late in their career.
