It is most certainly a challenging listen, not the kind of disc you could put on in the background nor is it the kind of album you could stick on in the car or at a dinner party with friends unless your friends also read this website on a regular basis! With JP Bouvet whipping up powerful rhythms on drums and Alejandro Zorilla locking down the bass I can't imagine that there will be any better jazz fusion albums this year. The best thing about the album is that although clearly Martin can play incredibly fast he doesn't feel the need to overdo it which is why "September 42nd" stands out.
Highly recommended.
