Norwegian Satanic Black Metal band NettleCarrier's first outing is far from a polished one, their self titled album has a raw sound that doesn't seem out of place at all with their most chilling of material. Most importantly, despite this present rawness their songs aren't lost in a wall of noise, if anything it just really adds to the feel of what NettleCarrier have created.
From the start "The Boiling Blood" erupts with the evil of NettleCarrier's animated music and nightmarish vocals, breakneck guitar work and drumming are featured on this release though there is some reprieve for the listener to be found on this album. NettleCarrier's debut shows they have the ability to record a strong collection of Black Metal material that genre followers will welcome.
NettleCarrier aren't poised to radically change what most other bands are doing in the Black Metal genre, they are just slotting in with their take of what appeals to so many about this style of metal.
