Joseph Magazine: Night Of The Red Sky

Released in 2011 Night Of The Red Sky was one of the years better progressive albums, and this is primarily an instrumental CD as there are limited spoken words and singing. Night Of The Red Sky is one that I really took a liking to partly because it is just different, and that's something I'm always looking for in a new band.

Capable artists performing fine quite technical at times instrumentals that is what Joseph Magazine are doing so well on their debut Night Of The Red Sky. To say Joseph Magazine is just a progressive metal band really doesn't sum up their music, as there is much more to be discovered. Actually it takes a while for any heaviness to see the light, but there is plenty here like on the title track which is quite potent drenched with multiple double kick patterns, pulsating bass, soaring guitar and agile keyboards. Night Of The Red Sky offers up a mixture of styles and intensity with a cinematic feel at times and should be sought out by the fans of Dream Theater and the like, it's that good.

Many Instrumental albums never seem to get the attention they deserve which is such a shame, and Joseph Magazine's Night Of The Red Sky is one such release.
