Simbiose: Economical Terrorism

Hearing "Buried Alive" proves that even crust/grind can be catchy. The Portuguese band's unrelenting attitude is a symbol of attack against today's political climate, giving much of the simplicity meaning as more direct statements, exemplified in the ferocious but anthemic "Rise Again" and the "Control My Life." Also, tempo changes and clean guitars in "Total Descontrolo" are not only refreshing but should have been utilized to a greater extent throughout the record. What's fun about this record is how they know how to channel their hatred in their riffs in a blast-of-instinct way that makes most of the record feel like a call to arms. "Drowning in Shit" throws off the mantra with a melodic harmony but luckily it's grind so you only have to wait a minute or so until it's over.

A punk-esque tinge tends to ride in the undercurrents but never in an obnoxious way. Really, the mixing of the instruments could be related to this since the it's surprisingly clear for the genre, but all the more notable is that, despite generally staying around similar tempos, you can tell the tracks apart from each other, which, for grind and the like, is hard to come by these days. Any fan of Gigantic Brain or Brutal Truth will definitely want to pick this up.
