I See Stars: Digital Renegade
I really have no clue where to put this. A genre of their own maybe. Digital Renegade is the third release by I See Stars, a band originating in Warren, Michigan.
Some call it post Hardcore, it may well be. Clean vocals and grunting vocals both are present here, where the clean vocals remind me a lot of Carlos Sanchez's in Coheed & Cambria.
On Digital Renegade, electronic music, disco, happy hardcore, heavy rock all go hand in hand to give you an ultimate experience of very energetic music. Which is fun listening as you never know what's coming next. Although the compositions aren't of a very high standard, the sheer energy and joy the music is brought more than sufficiently makes up for this.
In my mind the daftness of this album keeps popping up. When I first heard the album I thought "what Is this, has this album landed on the wrong desks, and should it have been sent to a more "disco and Pop oriented magazine", but now I don't think so, it is even progressive in approach, something different and I haven't felt the need to say that for a long time.
It is refreshing and fun, believe me this is an addictive album, once you've listened you'll want more... ok not too much please but still disco, pop, rock, hardcore outrageousness.
