Boy Meets Machine: War Horn

Apparently this debut album is highly anticipated in some parts – by the young people I imagine. It's actually not that difficult to see why as when they get it right, as they do on "Chemical", BMM are more than acceptable, however, they can also mix the good with the bad (superb guitar versus whinging in "Fast Forward to the Future".)

Generically speaking, War Horn is a difficult one to call. There's a shedload of guitars but I for one would hesitate to call it metal although the instrument dominates all that is good about the album. Christian Colabelli appears to be a seriously talented young man in terms of twanging the six strings. Obviously War Horn is in no way aimed at a old fuddy-duddly like myself but if you feel the urge to seek out a progressive take on alt-rock then you know where to look.
